Gracie Fields Statue & Dinosaur Garden
This garden has been created to commemorate Dippy’s visit to Rochdale. It showcases some of the amazing plants that were around when dinosaurs roamed the earth such as ferns, the monkey puzzle tree and pine trees.
The statue beside the Dinosaur Garden commemorates the singer Gracie Fields. Gracie was a local girl who started life working in a cotton mill and became a singer and film star. In the 1930’s she was the highest paid female star in the world!
